TV 3.0 is still in the testing phase in Brazil, but it has already shown its potential during the World Cup. The new technology, officially known as DTV+, brings interactive features directly to the remote control, as well as expanding the audiovisual possibilities of the transmission. I tested all the available resources during the match between England and Argentina, valid for the World Cup semifinals, using the Intelbras converter borrowed by Canaltech from the brand.

What works?

TV 3.0 offers several features that work well. Personalized audio is one of the features I liked the most. With this function, it is possible to choose the audio frequency you want, which ends one of the biggest problems of sports transmissions in channels that you don't like the narrator as much. In addition, the camera selection is another very useful feature. With TV 3.0, it is possible to choose an alternative camera, to show the game from another angle. The transmission divides the screen, with the original camera on the left and the second on the right.

What needs to be improved?

TV 3.0 still needs to improve in some aspects. The camera selection, for example, still needs improvements. The alternative has a delay of a few seconds in relation to the main, probably because it makes the streaming via internet. In addition, the 4K transmission still depends on the broadcast of the channels. During the tests, I noticed that only the official FIFA transmission was in 4K, while the Globo coverage images were still in standard resolution.

What's next?

TV 3.0 promises to revolutionize the experience of watching the World Cup. But what's next? TV 3.0 still needs to improve in some aspects, but it's clear that it's an important step for sports transmission technology. With TV 3.0, it is possible to watch the World Cup with interactive features directly on the remote control, as well as expanding the audiovisual possibilities of the transmission.

With TV 3.0, it is possible to watch the World Cup with interactive features directly on the remote control, as well as expanding the audiovisual possibilities of the transmission. Recently, the Brazilian National Team faced Norway and lost 1-2 (2026-07-05). With the team's recent form (4W-0D-1L, with wins in the last four matches), the expectation is high for the next match against Australia (2026-09-25).
